Bessheim is located near Besseggen in Jotunheimen. The winter season lasts from Friday, February 9 to Sunday, May 12, 2024. After Easter we are open on weekends/long weekends. The hiking season starts on Friday, June 7 in 2024. On Saturday, June 8, the Gjende boat will start transporting passengers on Gjende, among other things to hike Besseggen. The Gjende boat will run almost every day until October 6, 2024, and we will remain open for the same amount of time. Centrally located by county road 51, we have been accommodating and serving mountain hikers and travelers along the National Tourist Route over the Valdresflya since 1890. Here at Bessheim we have rooms, rental cabins, campsites and food service.
Booking of rooms and cabins:
It always pays to book directly to Bessheim. We have online booking. In the online booking you can book cabins and rooms, not campsites. Once you have submitted your booking, you will receive an email asking if you want to order dinner one of the evenings you stay here.
We have four electric car chargers that you can pay to use on the wall of the main building (we do not want you to charge from the cabins or rooms due to fire risk and insurance).
We offer accommodation in rooms, campsites and cabins here at Bessheim. In addition, we have a small campsite.
We have a total of 180 beds in 27 rooms and 27 cabins and camp sites. Inside the lodge we have 64 of these beds.
The rooms are not of hotel standard, but most have made-up beds and showers and toilets. The cabins have between 2 and 10 beds, and the size and standard varies greatly.
