SUMMER ON LEMONSJØEN

With short distances to classic summits such as Besseggen, Galdhøpiggen, Glittertind, Rasletind and Knutshø, the possibilities are many with Lemonsjøen as a starting point. Trollhøe is the pride of Lemonsjøen, with panoramic views of Jotunheimen, Rondane and even further on fine days. The area is also well suited for cycling, whether on gravel roads or trails in varied terrain. There is also a well-marked hiking terrain with both trails and cycling routes.

At Kalven Seter you can meet Norway's only milkmaid-barista shop, which offers home-baked lefse and nice coffee. Here, visitors of all ages can enjoy activities known from the NRK production "Energikampen".

The Lemonsjø troll lurks under Gråhø and the sculpture peak down by Lemonsjøen adds an extra dimension to the nature experience. The mountain trout can be found in several charming mountain lakes and the grouse can offer an autumn challenge. Lemonsjø Fjellstue & Hyttegrend offers boat rental on 5 mountain lakes.

WINTER ON LEMONSJØEN

In winter, Lemonsjøen is a favorite area for ski enthusiasts where you will find both an alpine center and a large and snow-safe network of cross-country ski trails. In the areas around the mountain lodge and in Heimfjellet, there are over 150 km of well marked ski trails, that is  groomed from the time the snow arrives in November until often well into May. The Jotunheim trail connects the area from Brimiland in the east, past Lemonsjøen, Randsverk, further into Sjodalen with Hindseter, Bessheim and Gjende in the west.

Lemonsjø Alpinsenter takes you up to 1250m above sea level with 5 slopes, as well as the "Park" with small and large jumps and off-piste areas. Lemonsjø Alpinsenter is the home arena for Trollhø Høkkers, the freeride club that constantly fosters world-class skiers. Vågå Freeride Invitationals are organized annually.

Don't forget to take time to listen to the silence, enjoy the moonlight and starry skies over magical landscapes and perhaps experience the mighty Northern Lights dancing in the winter night sky! During the winter, the reindeer herd of Vågå Tamreinlag visit the area and offer a fantastic spectacle if you are lucky enough to encounter them. The moose, king of the forest, also crosses the ski tracks daily. Lemonsjø Fjellstue & Hyttegrend has ski and sledge rental and offers the winter activity Fjellkørling.
